Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Early morning departure from Nairobi to the legendary Masai Mara (approximately 5-6 hours’ drive).
  • Enjoy the breathtaking view as you journey through the Great Rift Valley escarpment and its incredible physical features.
  • A stopover at a scenic viewpoint to admire the stunning view and take photos of the Great Rift valley. Hand-made souvenirs may be bought here from local artisans as they amuse you with myths and legends about how the Rift Valley came to be.
  • Arrive at the Masai Mara for a refreshing lunch at the camp/lodge.
  • Embark on your first thrilling game drive till sunset.
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 2: Masai Mara Full Day Game Drive
  • Arise for an early breakfast and proceed to a full day game drive with a bush picnic lunch in the Masai Mara.
  • Intrigue in the reserve’s wonders (such as the wildebeest migration “The 8th Wonder of the World” witnessed every year in July through October.
  • Spot the Big Five in the safety of our open roofed vehicles.
  • Enjoy a packed picnic lunch as you view the hippos and crocodiles at the Hippo Pool.
  • As the sun sets, you will be able to capture the spectacular sunset of the Mara before returning to your camp/lodge for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Masai Mara to Amboseli National Park
  • Start your day with a heavy breakfast and check out from your lodge/camp. An option of visiting a Maasai Village for a cultural visit (at the guest’s expense) to see how the Maasai live in harmony with wildlife and learn more about their culture firsthand.
  • Depart from Masai Mara and drive to Amboseli National Park located at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, (the highest peak in Africa), enjoying its picturesque landscapes (approximately 5-6 hours’ drive). A stopover for lunch at a restaurant along the way.
  • Arrive and check in at your camp/lodge.
  • Refresh and enjoy your hotel/lodge amenities.
  • Settle in for the night in anticipation of an early morning game drive the following day.
Day 4: Amboseli Full Day Game Drives
  • Start the day with an early morning game drive after a hearty breakfast, as the rising sun casts a golden glow over the savannahs of Amboseli.
  • Witness the beauty of the park's wildlife as they begin their day, from graceful elephants to elusive predators.
  • Explore different areas of Amboseli, each offering unique wildlife sightings and awe-inspiring views of Mount Kilimanjaro encountering lions, cheetahs, and giraffes,
  • Take a break for a bush picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
  • Continue your safari adventure in the afternoon, discovering hidden corners of Amboseli and encountering more fascinating wildlife.
  • Return to the lodge/camp for a delightful dinner, recounting the day's remarkable experiences and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Amboseli to Nairobi
  • Start the day with a scrumptious breakfast and check out. On a clear day, the view of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro is apparently spectacular.
  • Embark on a final morning game drive in Amboseli, savoring the last moments of your safari adventure.
  • Depart from Amboseli to Nairobi, bidding farewell to this remarkable National Park. (Option of visiting a Maasai village to experience their vibrant culture and traditions.)
  • Stop over en-route Nairobi at a tastefully selected restaurant.
  • Drop off at your hotel/airport.

Essential Travel Tips for Your East African Adventure

Clothing On Safari

Make sure you pack different layers of clothes. During the day temperatures may vary and wearing different layers makes it easy to quickly adapt to weather changes. Pack protective clothing against the sun and mosquitoes. Also don’t forget your swimming clothes and a poncho and/or a raincoat to stay dry during unexpected rain showers.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are another essential item to pack for a safari in Kenya. The sun can be pretty harsh, so protecting your eyes from the glare is necessary. We recommend packing a pair of polarized sunglasses that will reduce glare and provide 100% UV protection.

Hat

A hat is a must-have item when going on a safari in East Africa. Not only will it protect you from the harsh sun, but it will also keep your head cool and prevent mosquito bites. We recommend packing a wide-brimmed hat to provide maximum protection against the sun. A baseball cap or visor will do the trick if you don’t have a wide-brimmed hat.

Insect Repellent

Remember to pack insect repellent! Mosquitoes are everywhere in Kenya, so protecting yourself from bites is essential. Pack a strong insect repellent that contains at least 30% DEET. Apply the repellent liberally all over your body, especially in areas where mosquitoes are known to bite, such as the ankles, wrists, and neck.

Single Use Plastic

The import of plastic is banned in several countries in East Africa. When traveling, ensure you don’t carry plastic bags or other disposable plastic items. We fully support this change and recommend you bring your drinking bottle to refill with the water we provide on your safari. If you have any questions about which items are allowed in the country of arrival, do not hesitate to ask us!

Although not mandatory, tipping is an expression of your gratitude and appreciation for your guide and other staff making your safari more memorable.
