 Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi - Aberdare National Park
  • Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi where you’ll meet our representative and enjoy a brief road tour to Aberdare National Park. (3 – 4 hour drive)
  • Arrive at Aberdare for check-in and a tasty lunch.
  • You will be transferred to the iconic Ark Lodge which is designed to resemble Noah’s ark. The Ark boasts four spacious viewing decks with balconies and lounges, offering unparalleled game viewing from the comfort of the lodge.
  • Capture stunning wildlife images.
  • Enjoy a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Aberdare - Samburu National Reserve
  • Arise for an early breakfast and depart for Samburu National Reserve with a brief stop at the equator for a unique photo session. (approximately 5 to 6 hours)
  • Samburu National Reserve, one of Kenya’s famous tourist destinations, is located in the northern part of Kenya. It’s home to unique wildlife species like Grevy’s zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich
  • Check into your lodge/hotel and have lunch.
  • Embark on a thrilling afternoon game drive, capturing the diverse wildlife.
  • Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full Day in Samburu
  • Enjoy an early morning breakfast and depart for a thrilling morning game drive.
  • Spend a full day exploring Samburu National Reserve. Photograph the rare species unique to this park, such as the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich.
  • Return to your lodge/hotel for lunch and relaxation.
  • Embark on a late afternoon game to explore more of Samburu’s ecosystem and track specific animals.
  • Return to your lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Samburu - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
  • Wake up for an early breakfast and check out from your hotel/lodge before departure with a morning en route to the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa and the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya.
  • Get to enjoy a tasty lunch then embark on an afternoon game drive. Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and get to photograph the chimps in their natural habitat. Enjoy an afternoon game drive focusing on the Big Five and other wildlife.
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
 Day 5: Ol Pejeta - Lake Nakuru National Park
  • After an early morning breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stopover at Nyahururu and capture the majestic Thompson's Falls.
  • Lake Nakuru National Park, located in the Great Rift Valley, is famous for its large population of bright pink flamingos. Home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, the black and white rhinoceroses, and Rothschild’s giraffe.
  • Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch.
  • In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling game drive to picture the park's famous flamingos and rhinos.
  • Return to your lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara National Reserve
  • Wake up for an early morning breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru, and travel to the world-renowned Maasai Mara. (5 – 6 hour drive)
  • Enjoy a brief stopover view at Narok for refreshments.
  • Masai Mara is known for its seasonal wildebeest migration which is the 8th Wonder of the world.
  • Arrive and check-in at your lodge/camp in the heart of the reserve and enjoy a delicious lunch.
  • Take a break for a bush picnic lunch amidst the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
  • Enjoy an afternoon game drive as you capture pictures of the savannah landscape and return to your lodge/camp for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Full Day in Maasai Mara
  • Start the day with an early morning game drive. Enjoy a hearty picnic breakfast, as the sun rises over the vast savannahs of Maasai Mara.
  • Capture the predators on the hunt and herbivores grazing peacefully in the golden light.
  • Keep an eye out for the iconic Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, white and black rhinos.
  • Return to your camp/lodge for a delicious lunch and spend the rest of the evening on a fun activity of choice. You can visit the neighboring Maasai community for quality traditional photos and videos.
  • Return to the camp/lodge for a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Full Day in Maasai Mara
  • Wake up for an early breakfast and embark on a thrilling game drive, as the sun rises over the vast savannahs.
  • Be on the lookout for the iconic Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, white and black rhinos.
  • Explore different areas of the reserve, each offering unique wildlife sightings and stunning vistas.
  • Take a break for a bush picnic lunch amidst the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
  • Stop by the Mara River which is the center stage of the 8th wonder of the world and witness the Great Wildebeest Migration (which occurs every year from July-September).
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Maasai Mara - Lake Naivasha
  • Arise for an early breakfast, and depart Maasai Mara for Lake Naivasha. (a 4 – 5 hour drive)
  • Lake Naivasha is referred to as the Gem of the Rift Valley. This nickname highlights its scenic beauty, rich biodiversity, and significance within the Great Rift Valley region of Kenya
  • Arrive in time for a delicious lunch after check-in at your hotel/lodge.
  • Enjoy a refreshing afternoon boat ride in Lake Naivasha, perfect for photographing hippos and bird species like African fish eagle, white backed-duck, Egyptian goose, and many others against the backdrop of a stunning sunset.
  • Return to your lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park
  • Wake up for an early breakfast and check out before departure to Amboseli National Park. (about 5 to 6 hours) Amboseli offers the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. Mt. Kilimanjaro is permanently snow-capped forming a majestic contrast against the surrounding African savannah.
  • A brief stop – over at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for panoramic shots.
  • Arrive in time for a tasty lunch and check in at your lodge/camp.
  • Embark on a thrilling evening game drive as you capture the iconic images of elephants amidst Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Full Day in Amboseli
  • Start the day with an early morning game drive after a scrumptious breakfast, capturing the sunrise over the vast Amboseli plains and photographing wildlife in the golden light.
  • Encounter lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and other iconic animals like common wildebeest, and the occasional leopards in their natural habitat.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch at Observation Hill surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Amboseli.
  • Explore the park further during the afternoon game drive, immersing yourself in the wonders of this unique ecosystem.
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and relax, mesmerized by the incredible sights and sounds of Amboseli.
 Day 12: Amboseli - Tsavo West National Park
  • Brighten up your morning with an early breakfast and check out.
  • Depart for Tsavo West National Park (approximately 3-4 hours), with a spectacular drive through the African Wilderness.
  • Arrive at Tsavo West for a scrumptious lunch and check in at your lodge/camp.
  • Embark on an afternoon game drive visiting attractions like the Mzima Springs. Mzima Springs forms a sanctuary for rich wildlife with the herds of ‘dust-red’ elephants as they water spray and roll in the mud, the hippos, crocodiles basking at the riverbank, zebras, giraffes, and gazelles to the variety of bird species, and the famous Big Five.
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 13: Tsavo West - Tsavo East National Park
  • Wake up to an early morning breakfast and check out from your lodge/camp.
  • We shall have an en-route game drive as we head to Tsavo East National Park. (Just 1 – 2 hour drive)
  • Arrive in time for a tasty lunch and check in at your lodge/camp.
  • Embark on a thrilling afternoon game drive. Spend the day photographing the scenic Galana River, Aruba Dam, and the Majestic Yatta Plateau.
  • Venture further into the wild as you encounter the rare Red Elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and buffaloes.
  • Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14: Tsavo East - Mombasa
  • Arise for an early breakfast and check out from your lodge/camp.
  • You shall have an en-route game as you drive to Mombasa.
  • Upon arrival, check into your beachside resort and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
  • Continue your photography safari with beach excursions capturing the stunning Indian Ocean and the white sandy beaches.

Essential Travel Tips for Your East African Adventure

Clothing On Safari

Make sure you pack different layers of clothes. During the day temperatures may vary and wearing different layers makes it easy to quickly adapt to weather changes. Pack protective clothing against the sun and mosquitoes. Also don’t forget your swimming clothes and a poncho and/or a raincoat to stay dry during unexpected rain showers.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are another essential item to pack for a safari in Kenya. The sun can be pretty harsh, so protecting your eyes from the glare is necessary. We recommend packing a pair of polarized sunglasses that will reduce glare and provide 100% UV protection.

Hat

A hat is a must-have item when going on a safari in East Africa. Not only will it protect you from the harsh sun, but it will also keep your head cool and prevent mosquito bites. We recommend packing a wide-brimmed hat to provide maximum protection against the sun. A baseball cap or visor will do the trick if you don’t have a wide-brimmed hat.

Insect Repellent

Remember to pack insect repellent! Mosquitoes are everywhere in Kenya, so protecting yourself from bites is essential. Pack a strong insect repellent that contains at least 30% DEET. Apply the repellent liberally all over your body, especially in areas where mosquitoes are known to bite, such as the ankles, wrists, and neck.

Single Use Plastic

The import of plastic is banned in several countries in East Africa. When traveling, ensure you don’t carry plastic bags or other disposable plastic items. We fully support this change and recommend you bring your drinking bottle to refill with the water we provide on your safari. If you have any questions about which items are allowed in the country of arrival, do not hesitate to ask us!

Although not mandatory, tipping is an expression of your gratitude and appreciation for your guide and other staff making your safari more memorable.
